Our Vineyards - Sierra Foothills

Grape growing and winemaking in California date back to the Gold Rush and over the past decade there has been a serious effort to help the area claim its rightful place in the science and passion of winemaking. Our Penn Valley Ranch comprises more than one half of Nevada County’s actively farmed wine-growing acreage and produces robust, signature varietals.

Nevada County boasts a unique blend of topography, climate and soil where warm sunny days, afternoon breezes, cool nights, rich soil and varied terrain produce complex and unique wine grapes.
